The most common question I hear when preparing for photos is “what should we wear?” For years, I personally did the matchy-matchy route, with every child wearing the same outfit. That, however, began to get harder and harder to do once my children’s size ranges spread out and I got a combination of boys and girls. Another solution is to do solid matching, where everyone usually wears a white or black shirt. This can be boring, especially if year after year you choose the same colour. Solution three is to stay in the same or complimentary colour range. I have moved to embrace this style and have found that it is actually easy to do. Most stores use similar or complementary colours across their collections, so even if the outfit are not the same, they will look great together. If you shop at a store like Old Navy, with clothes for every age group, even Mom and Dad can get in on the fun. This way you get fun, stylish clothes that co-ordinate without wearing the exact same thing.
